Monique Donesia

There Are No Stars. There Is No Glory.

Monique Donesia is an abstract visual artist whose practice is guided by intuition, material experimentation, and emotional truth. Acrylic forms the foundation of her work, but she layers it with unconventional and found materials—ash, charcoal, fabric, natural pigments, and the residue of lived experience—to push against the boundaries of form. Negative space, texture, and gesture shape her visual language, allowing her to move between presence and absence, accumulation and erasure.

As she describes it: “I often say before I start working, ‘I need to get something off me.’ My canvas knows me most intimately.”
