SIEGE
September 28, 2024

SIEGE was an outdoor, site-specific sculpture installation, the work engaged directly with the building’s ongoing restoration, using cast-off bricks, rubble, and tools from the site alongside large-scale photographs printed on durable outdoor vinyl.

Davies approached the property as an active terrain—part home, part construction site, part battlefield—assembling flag-like structures that evoked both conquest and collapse. Through the tension between demolition and repair, SIEGE reflected the fragile balance between loss and renewal, framing renovation as a process marked by struggle, care, and persistence. Exposed to weather and seasonal change, the work evolved over time, mirroring the shifting landscape of SHED itself.
