SOFT LAUNCH: Editions

Since its inception, SHED has been a platform where projects are custom tailored to an artist’s vision in the various spaces in which we work. With SOFT LAUNCH: Editions, we embark on our first fundraising endeavor. This venture embodies the culmination of dialogues and relationships formed with artists we’ve had the privilege to work with. In this special launch, we have invited these artists to craft a limited edition of 10 works. This collection showcases an array of pieces ranging from objects of utility to small original sculptures designed to inhabit the private spaces of your life.

SHED is a family operation with all respective roles, tasks, and responsibilities fulfilled by the three of us. Through the generosity of our audience, patrons, and artists, we generate essential revenue from art sales and private contributions to supplement what is primarily funded by significant personal resources. We endeavor to build bridges between communities, art makers, and culture bearers through experimentation at the intersection of art and family life.

Since our establishment in 2021, we have produced 17 projects nationwide, providing direct support to 56 individual artists in the form of exhibitions, publications, residencies, and project support. Recently establishing our home base in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, we continue to work in other communities throughout the Midwest and New Orleans. Each of the contributing artists produced a multiple in an edition of 10 to be sold to benefit future programming at SHED. Your purchase will directly support and uplift our capacity as a dynamic and generative force in the communities where we work. These funds will be put towards housing, meals, transportation, and project expenses for invited artists as well as expenses related to our exhibitions and programs which are always free and open to the public.

Everything we do is made possible by the tremendous support we’ve received from y’all. We are excited to continue on this wild ride and are immensely grateful to so many of you for joining us along the way.
