EDITIONS 2025: Considering the Ear
A Portable Exhibition Supporting SHED’s 2026 Artist Programming
Produced in an edition of 33 (includes 3 Artist’s Proofs)
EDITIONS 2025 takes the form of a portable, collapsible exhibition housed in a box—a continuation of SHED’s commitment to experimentation, accessibility, and artist support. Each box includes 10 original works by regional, national, and international artists responding to the prompt: Considering the Ear
Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s La Boîte-en-Valise (Box in a Suitcase), this project invites you to restage SHED anywhere—your home, classroom, or gallery.
Each artist was asked to contribute 30 editions and 3 artist proofs, resulting in 33 unique exhibition boxes. While each box contains one work from every artist, no two boxes are exactly alike:
Some works vary in color.
A photograph comes in six distinct variants—randomized across the boxes.
Jillian Blackwell and Yasmeen Nematt Alla collaborated on works that span two boxes: to experience the full piece, you must acquire two versions (half the boxes contain a silver USB, the other half gold).
Think of this as a franchise-in-a-box: a fully curated SHED show you can activate anywhere.
Participating Artists
Gabrielle Banzhaf (Cleveland, OH)
Kim Bissett (Cleveland, OH / Rimersburg, PA)
Jillian Blackwell (Detroit, MI)
Eli Gfell (Cleveland, OH)
Malena Grigoli (Cleveland, OH)
Jon Gott (Cleveland, OH / New Orleans, LA)
Jorge Lucero (Urbana, IL)
Greg Martin (Cleveland, OH)
Charles Mayer (Sandusky, OH)
Travis Morehead (Evanston, IL)
Yasmeen Nematt Alla (Toronto, Canada)
Please note: The photos shown are examples—each box contains unique variations, as artists interpreted the idea of an edition differently.
